This is the fourth snuff bottles in the second image and has been stated to have been made between 1730 and 1850. It is 55 mm high and came without a top. I find it fascinating how many materials have been imitated using glass.

(Out of interest the other bottles are ivory friut, jet and glass pear).

Dear Peter,
you have interesting bottles there. I like very much glass imitating other materials bottles. To better have an idea about dating you bottles, you should post pictures of details especially the right shape, the base and the neck/opening.

An interesting assortment Peter.

Personally, I am not much attracted by glass bottles imitating other materials, but have to acknowledge many of them are quite clever.

And, judging by the auction results from last week's three important snuff bottle sales in Hong Kong, they are highly sought after by collectors. Several lots imitating calcified jade, chalcedony, agate and other materials  sold for more than the 'genuine' examples alongside them.

As Giovanni says, a detail shot of top opening and base helps with any comments people may make. Also, any description of the degree and quality of hollowing.

Peter,

Giovanni has several interesting glass bottles imitating stone, in pebble form. They were posted on a thread about 18 months ago. I cannot recall the heading. Maybe someone else can remember.
