I had never heard of this book, and it had not been mentioned on forum before.. So was not sure what to expect.

What a pleasant surprise !

Nice big and heavy book at about 11 X 9" and jam packed with 220 pages of beautifully illustrated bottles of every imaginable medium..  Guessing there must be some 600/800 bottles illustrated.

Published in 2002, so not real old.. Looking through the many bottles and suggested values, I think it a good reference only 12 years later.. The suggested values look right on with the exception of some of the Modern IP's..

George,

I am pleasantly surprised to hear your positive reaction to this book. I was aware of it, but it had a very poor reception from the ICSBS fraternity.  From the reviews I got the impression it was largely a beginners' guide, and did not illustrate particularly high quality bottles. Consequently I was not tempted to buy a copy.

Obviously one shouldn't take too much notice of critics.

PS: Would be interested to know what it has to say about fakes and forgeries (p. 215)

Geroge,

It is a handy reference book, looking at the content page.

Tom,

There are many run of the mill 100/200 dollar bottles, but there are a great many very unusual bottles ..

I will snap a few page pics, and also get you the few pages about fakes.. Nothing really special there..

Thanks George, for both sets of scans.

The book appears to cover a large and eclectic mix of bottles, including some very unusual examples. I can see how this could confuse a newbie collector.

Guys,
I never heard about this book or the authors. It actually sounds interesting. A reason it might have been put down by the ICSBS crowd, was the lack of recognition of the authors. Stupid, but it happens.
