Hi All
It wasnt until I was recently browsing a book on snuff bottles that the theme on this bottle of mine made sense. Dont get me wrong.....I am not saying it is from the same artist, just that the theme of crayfish is similar, NOT identical.  Smiley  It came with a small group of snuff bottles bought from a local auction. It is app.74mm high without the stopper.
Any input would be welcome, and a translation of the script please.
Cheers, Brenda

Hi Brenda,

This is a theme of shrimps instead of crayfish, attached please find famous shrimps by Qi Baishi.

I hope that you didn't pay much for the bottle, it doesn't look real inside painted to me, I can be wrong, but the  color shade without variety put me off, it could be photo enhanced bottle, if you do a search on the forum, you might find topics we can talk about photo etched bottle or photo enhanced bottle.

Steven

No, I didnt pay much....a few dollars for a group about 10/15 years ago. But it is strange the way its painted(?) . I cant see photo enhancement...perhaps some type of decal or transfer maybe? But you would have to be oh so careful...the slightest wrinkle or fold, especially in the feelers, would be so obvious and its not the type of snuff bottle that would appeal to the tourists who usually like 'pretty'. I quite like it actually Wink. But whats with the circular base? Wierd!!!
Cheers, Brenda
ps. Anyone know what the script says?
