Hi  Charll

Wang  Ming  is  not   Zhang  Haishen ( CIPMA  page  234)  .

Zhang Haishen's pen name  is  Shi Qing    石 青  ( one  of a  couple  of  artists  who  use the  pen  name  Shi Qing)

But  David  Osborne  had  this  bottle  for sale  in 2006.  Is that how  bought  it?

STEVEN :  Can you   read the   Chinese  characters  for  Ya  Ru   please ?  It's  a  new   name  as  far   my  DB  is  concerned.

Cheers

Peter,

Yes this is a bottle acquired from David Osborne.  He indicated the art name was Wang Ming, I assume that this is at least correct.  If someone can pin this art name to an artist that would be great!  Thanks for the clarification.

Dear Geoff,
I have a number of Qiushi bottles. Mine are of copies of Castiglione's portraits of the Qianlong Emperor's favourite hunting hounds.
   He is really talented.

Been a while since someone has shared a bird themed bottle..

This is my first.. Not an expensive bottle, and not as nice as others shared earlier in this topic. Especially Charll's, but I thought  pretty good paintings of the unknown birds as well as the peach, and oak trees.  But have searched, and searched with no luck to ID the birds..

This front side with two unknown type of birds in an oak tree.

Then the reverse side with a couple unknown birds in a peach tree with banana leaves in the foreground.

I do not have this bottle in hand yet, and this close up from the auction listing is a bit out of focus.. I think it will look much better.. Will take a better pic when it arrives.

Nice bottle George.

No need to look far for the bird ID - I think Waxwing and Tree Sparrow - see above and repeated here

Hi  Geoff, All

Good to  see that  you  are  still  "bird  spotting"  on  IPBs   Grin

Next time  you   drop  by my home for  a  beer  we  must   try  to identify   all the  bird  species in  my several  bird  bottles !

Cheers

George, I like this one.  It has a subtle abstract appeal in the design. Charll

In the past years, many artists painted for Wang Guanyu, and Mr. Wang gave them each pen name for them. One of them is that Liu Xinkai's was Shi Qin.
Another question is that Zhang Haishen has had a shop for selling different inside painted items. He also used to write the names as Shi Qin.
So my idea is that Shi Qin is not a certain person. and I suggest that if you love the bottle very much, please collect it even if you cannot find the real artist; or you claim the real information on the bottle from the buyer.

Hi Mike

According to  what   Wang Guanyu  wrote  for  me:

Liu Xinkai  =  Qiu Shi

Zhao Yanli =  Shi Qing

(But there  is  another  "Shi Qing"  =  Zhang Haishen   according to  David  Osborne .
Also  I have a  bottle    signed   Qiu Shi  that  I am sure  is  not  by  Liu Xingkai )

Cheers
Peter
