Hi All

I had a good lunch and an exciting guided tour of Peter Bentley's bottle collection today in Hong Kong - a really superb collection with so much to talk about and not enough time.
I did manage to show Peter a few of my bottles and he asked me to post this one for comment

It has a crack across the lower part of the front face.

I can't remember where I bought it but I thought it looked like an old bottle and birds are my favourite subject.

Dear Geoff,
That looks like a Ye Bengqi (but signed, as they all were, till the 1950s, Ye Zhongsan). It looks quite interesting, but I am notorious about not recognising the quality of bottles through the Internet.
Best,
 Joey

Hi Geoff,

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful bottle, I agree with Joey, it could be a Ye bengqi bottle false dated 1892, there are a group of bottles false dated at the same year.

I would date the bottle 1920-1930 or a little bit later according the painting style.

Again a wonderful bottle, thank you for sharing!

Beautiful Bottle Geoff..

Looking through the Apricot Grove series, birds/insects were a popular Ye studio theme during the dates Steven suggests, 1920/30's , and yours does look very much like Ye Bengqi's ..

Thanks for these replies.

I'm very pleased with the suggestion it is a Ye family bottle.
