Dear Mike,
That fox bottle is stunning! Thank you for posting it.
But please supply details: height, year painted, price (if it is for sale), if it is in your collection, who the artist studied with.
    Best for 2014,
      Joey (Si Zhouyi)

Mike,

A beautiful bottle and the fox is eloquently done.  This is of a quality and has a motif that I love to acquire when I can.  Thanks for sharing

Gorgeous!  The artist really captured this red fox in motion.  It made me think of some I have seen recently in the wild in North Carolina.  Thanks for sharing.  Jo

The fox bottle was painted by Zhao Hai Bao, whose teacher is Wang Chun Guang.
Painted in 2013.
I found this bottle in an exhibition. I like, so I share it with all here.
I has asked Mr. Zhao the price. I cannot afford it, $5000.00.

Hello  All

Sorry  to  be  frank,  but  that price  of  US$5,000  is much too  high ,  by a  factor of   at least   200%, maybe  even  300%.

Zhao Haibao  is  an excellent  up-coming  artist ( I  know  him   quite well)    but  there  are  no    artists  in his  class / age-range   who   sell their  bottles  for  those  kind  of prices,  especially  direct  artist-to-collector via  some intermediary  in Hengshui   who  -  I assume  -  is  not   asking  for  any commission.

The  last  time   Zhao Haibao's  bottles   were  sold  via  Jill  Guojie   was   Autumn 2012  and  at that  time   he  had  some beautiful  bottles in the  US$1,750 - 1,950  price  range ( and those  are  international  dealer  prices)

If  you  have a  recent  copy  of  my  DB  you  can can see the  bottles  I refer  to  and the  actual  prices

Cheers
Peter

Dear Peter,
Thank you for being frank. I had thought the price quoted would be US$1,300 - US$1,500; possibly as high as US$1,750. The actual price is almost 3 times the highest price I could be tempted to pay. That is ridiculous.
I just purchased a Ye Zhongsan the Elder bottle in quartz for half the price quoted. And Ye Zhongsan the Elder isn't painting anymore!  Wink  Grin
   Best to all for 2014,
     Joey
