I normally won't buy any serious bottle without knowing the artist, but I took a chance ,and purchased this one, I have to hold my breath when I see the painting, very happy to have this bottle, altho the artist is not any famous master, Kang hongxi the artist whom I was not able to find his name on Bill site.

Peter, Mike, Do you happen know the artist?

Thanks!

Steven,

As you likely know this looks like one in a series of bottles that Bill Patrick had for sale.  If I understand what your saying you purchased this bottle from another source.  If that is the case you may want to make a query to Bill also, for he may recognize the design and/or artist.

Thanks Charll,

I just found the artist on Bill's site, only a group of bottles, but his name is not on the artist list, Thank you for reminding me Bill 's site. The seller might bought it from Bill's site.Smiley I will check with Bill about the bottle.

Hi Steven,

Really beautifully executed paintings.....great depth and detail!

There is a whole series of "ballet dancer" IP bottles in this style, including the triple bottle featured in the left margin of the forum, below the panda bottle.  Not sure if they are the ones Charll is referring to.

Hi

Kang Hongxi  is  most  certainly in Bill's   website   www.snuffbottlecollector.com  !

Also  in my  Data  Base  !!

Please  do   check    carefully

He is one of the  top  students  of   Li Shouxun

He  painted   the  ballet  series  a  few  years  ago,  and  as I recall  Bill  put  some of them  up for  sale

Cheers
Peter

Hi  Steven

How  much did  you pay for the  bottle,  just as  a  matter  of  interest ?

(Please  feel  free to  reply  my private  message  if  you  prefer)

Many  of the  bottles  Bill  collected  were  commissioned  copies  of  paintings.  In most cases  he  mentions  on his  website the    name  of the  artist  who  painted  the  original  painting

In the  case  of the  ballet  series the original   artist   was Guan Zeju

Cheers

Thank you for your info Peter!

Yes, the original artist was Guan Zeju, and it scripted on the bottom of the bottle.

My bottle was painted in 2009,  and I was very lucky to have the bottle with less than half of the price on Bill's site, altho I think the price Bill is asking is more than a fair price according today's market.

Cheers

I just called to Li Shou Xun.
Kang Hongxi has ever worked in Li Shouxun's studio.
But now he has left.
At first, Kang Hongxi learned how to paint in the bottle in Xisan Art School, perhaps in the year of 2001 or so.
