Looks like a Finch on one side and a parakeet on the other..

Not absolutely sure, but believe I see year chia-wu 1974 painted..

Dear George,

The date is not Jia-Wu but Jia-Xu. The word ' Xu ' ( 戌 ) has a short additional horizontal stroke inside, different from ' Wu ' (戊).
So it would be 1994 then.

    No problem, George. It's my Asperger's...

    When I bought my house in Jerusalem, a friend who is a budding journalist wrote an article about the purchase in a local magazine. It got picked up by the English language internet edition of an Israeli newspaper, but they changed me from Joey to Joy, from Canadian to American, and from a man in Israel 30 years to a woman in Israel a year.

     I meant to complain and correct it, till my big brother told me it was great MIS-information, and the following joke about the French Foreign Legion:
    Three men are condemned to death by guillotine for some offense or other.
    The first man is French. Asked his last request, he specifies a beautiful woman, a fine meal, and a great bottle of wine. After that, he is laid on the guillotine, and, the blade stops 4 inches from his neck. He is free to go.
    The second man is British. For his last request, he wants Roast Beef, Port and a good cigar. He is laid on the guillotine, and the same thing happens! He is also free to go.
    The third man is German. Asked his last request, he says,"First fix that damned machine!"
My brother advised me not to be like the German...    Grin
