OK Steven,

This last one with the deer and tiger I looked at hard and long and came close to biding on it myself, but decided to go after another bottle instead.  Good to see it went to a good home, but please give us a little background on the artist and dates of the last two bottles.  The '100 dog bottle' is also a good bottle in my book.

Thanks Charll,

Actually George and I were all looked long and hard on this one.Smiley

The part of the reason I bid on it is the curiosity to find out the real artist, also because the subject is kind of real on that period.

The artist is  李春(li Chuan) and painted in 1978 in one bottle studio, as we know the first tier WXS's students was 1973-1978, so I think it should be one of the students of WXS, but I searched everywhere, can't find any info on this artist, the painting on the bottle is fairly good, and calligraphy is superbe during that period. its impossible that we can't find such a mature artist during that period, since not so many artist in one bottle studio at that time.

With George's help,( George was the first one bid on it,and I don't want to overbid him,so I asked him to bid higher for me), then lucky enough,  I got it with the exactly the max amount  we bid. I personally think its kind of overpaid, but I think it worth it, after I got the bottle, I asked Yuan shijia's help to find out the artist, he even asked Master Wang Guanyu who is the first tier student of WXS, Master wang confirmed that Li Chuan was WXS's first tier student, but changed his career after 80s, that is why there is no record on the database.

That is a long story of the bottle,I hope that you are not bored.Smiley

Thanks again for George's help. I will take some more pic later,It looks really good in person.

Forgot mentioned the cat bottle was painted by 多成云(duo chenyun) who is the second tier student of WXS, Duo is not any master IMO even he started a inside painting school during 90s, and his pieces is just ok  to me.

His most famous pieces are hundred kids subject. I

we can see the cats are all looked pretty much same on that bottle, but it does look cute tho, so I bought it as a sample of Duo, nothing so special.

I remembered George was looking at a cat bottle which was painted by Duo as well, not sure if I can find the post.Smiley

Hi Steven,

That is the smallest bottle I have ever seen. Amazing........but I'd be afraid of swallowing it with my vitamin pills. Grin

The  smallest  bottle  I ever saw  was  by  Jiang Wenchun, who   specializes  in    tiny bottles  and horses

This   bottle  was  on  display  at  an exhibition  in Guangzhou  in 9.2009

It   was only   2  cm  x  2  cm  but  had   100 horses  painted  inside

Price  : at that  time  , was  listed  as   RMB100,000 ............

Small  is not  only  beautiful but  also  expensive  Grin
Cheers

Peter

Hi Peter,

The one I posted is the same size as yours, also painted by 姜文春(Jiang wenchun),

I do appreciate the smaller beauty, but if I collect, I would prefer not that small, 5-6 cm high is perfect to me.

That is amazing! I need to commission a padded box or two which will hold 15 or 20 miniatures instead of 10 regular bottles.
I have a few miniatures already; a box (or two) of them would be something.
