Hi guys,

What do you think of this bottle?  How modern is it?

Cheers,

Curt

Curt,
How old are you? If you are over 20, chances are it should get up for you on the bus!  Grin
Nice Qianlong nianzhi (Qianlong period made) seal mark, though.

haha very funny Joey.

I knew it is modern, most probably made after 70's.  Just don't think they make it like this nowadays.

Cheers,

Curt

Hi Curt,

I actually like it very much, I have a miniature vase with very similar decroation without the period mark tho.

I will vote it  70s-80s, no matter how  old its, a beautiful bottle, the colors remind me a little bit japanese style.

Steven,
I bought 5 or 6 cloisonne bottles between 1970 and 1980. I NEVER saw this type of design. This is post 1995, in my opinion. Possibly as old as 1993...  Cheesy

Curt,
The craftsmen of China are making finer and more intricate art works than ever before. I'm constantly amazed, and occasionally even a bit envious, of some of the modern examples that other collectors post from their collections. Like George's 'Straw Agate' bottle, for example. The craftsmen who work in Cloisonne are no different.
This bottle is very fine quality, but I'd say it was made ca. 1995-2012 .

I am to Joey..

I see so many M/VM bottles that are not only IP, but a variety of mediums..  I am as amazed at the quality, as I am at the fact that someone is working for dirt cheap for the price many are selling for.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to requiring the same amount of time and skill towards creating a lot of the absolutly beautiful bottles that are coming out of China.
