Hi,

I recently came into possesion of several snuff bottles and really know nothing about them. Any help identifying these and possible value would be much appreciated.

This one looks like it is Red Coral.

Thanks for any help.

Todd

Dear Todd,

Wow, you certainly have a nice collection there.  This is a very nice natural coral snuff bottle that has been very nicely carved.  There are snuff bottle made glass to imitate coral and some of them look just like natural red coral. It would be nice to see a photo of the base, but the white areas mixed with the coral red are sure signs of natural coral.

Excuse me for asking, but how many bottles did you find/innherit/buy?  What are your plans for their future? Are you planning on selling them?

Best regards,

Tom B.

Here are 2 more pics of the bottom of this bottle as well as the largest white spot on it. These were all inherited and there are about a dozen bottles in all. I will most likely be selling these so if interested please let me know.

Thanks,
Todd
