Giovanni,

Very nice new acquisition!  Now onto how the bottle was made, in talking to glass blowers it is my understanding that it is similar to this paper weight shown in the video provide below.  Your bottle starts out as a “Parison” of white glass (i.e., the rounded mass of molten glass formed by rolling the substance immediately after removal from the furnace) at the end of a blowpipe.  Then it is either a double dip into molten yellow glass or dipped into yellow glass “fritts” (a glass sand) and then dipped into brown glass “Shards” as shown in the video.  Reheated and shaped in a similar process as shown.  Your bottle could have possibly been turned horizontally in a wooden mould as indicated or blown into a vertical mould to acquire the final shape as shown in the picture below.
