Indeed, some of them seem very nice. Too bad his/her photography skills leave us wondering about the details, AND more importantly dont forget to read the fine print on the exorbitant shipping charges!

Sometimes I use poor photography to my advantage. It is rare, but has resulted in a couple of nice purchases ovrlooked by other buyers.

My first impression is that I "feel" this was either the whole or part of someones collection. The seller does not appear to have any knowledge of snuff bottles or photography.

I enjoy keeping an eye on these selllers, and so long as the bidding does not get stupid, I am planning to bid on a few.

Will certainly figure in the shipping costs, which I have a feeling is going to end up being a fraction of the closing/winning bid for many of these.

I read it to mean 7 Eur shipping, but after just emailing the seller, they are charging 30 Eur per bottle ! Almost 40.00 US !

I bid on one of the bottles and planned on bidding on a couple more, but now am hoping I get outbid on the one !

This how a lot of people make their money on ebay, and unfortunately not much can be done about it IF clearly stated in the listing... real auctions are worse ..

I was bidding on one.. Then decided to confirm with the seller about possibly combining the shipping on a few bottles.

He would combine "all" the bottles for 40 EUR.

I asked how much for one, and he said 30 EUR.

Thank goodness I was outbid on the one bottle.

Crazy shipping costs !

Hi George,

Just a comment on shipping costs:  The cost to send even the smallest package that needs insurance sent from France is least 32 EURO, from Germany any package that needs insurance goes at a flat rate for shipping of 35 EURO whether it weighs a few grams or up to 5 kilograms (circa 11 pounds).

These sellers aren't trying to make money on the shipping costs, they are just passing on the exhorbitant International Postal costs of Europe.
