This seller is listing a few set of snuff bottle with box, if someone interested in the box, would be a good choice, I guess if you sell the bottles on ebay, then you can get the box for free, bottles are student bottles, but at least they are painted bottles:)

Hi Steven,

I would like some boxes, but that looks like a complicated way of getting one!  Undecided

Peter,

Yes, I had heard that shipping things out of Mainland China can be problematic. I'm wondering if there isn't a seller of these boxes in Hong Kong. Of course, the cost will be higher, but then shipping to Thailand (or anywhere else) would be a doddle.

Having said that, it took DHL just 24 hours to get the SZH book from Beijing to Bangkok (via HK). That's very impressive! It takes them at least 2 days to get something from Phnom Penh to Bangkok, which is only a one-hour flight away.

Hi  Tom

It's  easy   and  cheap  to   get  these    kind   of   "things "    out  of  China   to  anywhere   in the   West/ East

The  "things"     cost   almost   zero  if  one  buys  in  bulk   (  same   same  little   wooden stands   for  bottles   that  I   saw  this  week   in  CAC  /  HK    for  US$ 50   each  , but   which  I   can  buy  cash  in  Shanghai  at   US$10 )

The   SZH  book  cost  me   RMB   180  /  per  book  (  or  there- abouts    /  same as   via   Misu)    delivered    to    China   address.  But  to  get     the  "things"  out   of   China   , plus   re-packaging/  invoicining /  paying /     colllection    /  NOW   I  understand    why   Wells  Fargo    survived The   Gold  Rush

Hi Peter,

And that's exactly why "re-sellers" based in Hong Kong can still make a killing!  Cheesy

Hi  Tom

It's   true  ....

There's   huge  amount  of   work  to  get   "things"  out  to the  West  (  or  East)    and that's  what  trading  companies  are  for

My  own  employer  operates  on a   US$40 Million    turnover   of   " things"   and we  need  15%  just to   operate  the     whole  thing  in HK.    All back-to-back   orders .   That's  15%  just to pay  basic costs  / zero  profit.  If   I   wanted  to   run a  profit, and  stock  ,  and   carry  the  loss  years  I would  have  to charge 30-35%    to make  an  average  10-15%   average  net  profit,  on  which I pay  tax  @  16.5%

And  that's  not   even  counting   rent  costs  in prime  locations   like  CAC  rents   in  prime  tourist  places

I am moving  this  to the  pub   for   further  discussion

Cheers

Hi Peter,

I am wondering that can you buy a couple of snuff bottle boxes for me.

I am looking for a couple of big box for 10 or 12 bottles, there were some for sell on ebay once a while, but when I am trying to buy it, I can find it available anymore.

Or can anybody tell me where to buy it in States.

Thanks!

Steven,

I would contact this ebay seller directly.  They had a number of boxes at $20 each that did not sell.  If they still have them, I'm in need of 5 to 10 ten boxes also.  Charll

This seller is quite nice and responsive. I know him personally from my Shanghai days.  His daughter lives in New York and I know she also is a seller/dealer in Chinese art. There may be a connection there to deal with shipping costs in a better way.

Just got feedback from the seller, he relisted some more boxes, however there is no discount on the boxes.

Just forward his email and for your info..

Dear Steven,
Thanks for your email and question.
Here is the item number #190882287899,#380694297900,#380694298293, #380694299146 for snuff bottle boxes.
Please check at first. There are total three size, small, middle and large.
The different size come with different price and shipping charge.
By the way, we can combined shipping for 5 - 6 boxes and give you a discount for shipping fee.
But we have no discount for item price, even you buy 10 boxes. Because the ebay price is the lowest price :-)
Thanks for your understanding!
Best regards,
Nathan
