This shows Guan Gong (Guan Yu).

Guan Gong is worshipped as the God of War and as the God of Merchants.. Often seen holding a book like in the image on this bottle.  Not absolutley sure, but looks like he is holding a peach blossom branch in his other hand.

I believe the second person behind him with the crane in the foreground may be his helper ?

Apparently, Guan Yu has many of names. Guan Yu is his real given name and surname, his style is (Guan) Yun Chung, he's called Guan Gong (Gong meaning master or lord). Ref link: http://the-scholars.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=15903

I am not experienced enough to tell if this is a soft or hard paste porcelain.. My guess is soft..

Painted in underglaze blue. Cylindrical body with angular shoulders, short flared neck with lipped rim, and recessed base.

The pics I added here got deleted from my Photobucket, so here is a link to view a slideshow..

Hi George,

I like the bottle.

But I have to correct you that this is not Guan Gong (Guan Yu)Smiley

This is the god of the longevity, when you see crane, which is always related with longevity.

I will vote for later 19th to early 20th because the rough finish of the base rim.

Oh oh..... !

Guess I better do some reading up on the God od Longevity !

I was having quite a hard time figuring out who this might be..  Honestly, it was the holding of the book that made me believe him Guan Gong..

As always, thank you Steven !

Ok.. So here is a little info just learned..

So to correct my original post !   Smiley

The God of Longevity, also called the Old Man Star, is one of the three gods in Chinese fable, namely, the God of Luck, God of High Rank and God of Longevity.

Holding a staff on one hand and a Lucid Ganoderma on the other. Articles symbolizing longevity such as deer, "crane" and peach are usually painted on the picture of the God of Longevity.

Now.. Who is the young man behind him suppose to be on the bottle painting ?
