The one side is the same subject, "Twenty-Four Stories of Filial Piety" as Steven pointed out on my last famille rose bottle..

I have searched through some of the excellent research links that Steven shared with us, searching for the subject on the other side, but not finding it..

I think there are a couple of possiblities from within "Dreams In A Chamber" that look close, but just not absolutely sure..

Kangxi Mark.. ( 1662 - 1772 )

I can only guess that this was created Late 19th, Early 20th Century..

Just for the record, if someone could please decipher the scripts on both sides  Smiley  Would be great !

That is exactly what led me to purchase it..  Without much consideration about age..

George, Steven, et al,
Do you ever see the Bapo (Eight Brokens/ Contents of the Scholar's Desk/ Contents of the Wastepaper Basket) subject matter in media other than IPSBs? I'd be interested to know.

Yep,  "made/painted at" Zhu Shan .

Apparently, Zhu Shan or Pearl Hill is the area of the former Imperial porcelain factory in Jingdezhen.

Ok..

Thanks to you Steven, now it has come together for me..  Smiley

Both scenes are from Twenty-Four Stories of Filial Piety..

My translator will not translate exactly what this second scene is..

You got me Smiley, But that is why I think this bottle is questionable:), it should be written"作于珠山" made at Zhu shan instead of "珠山作" made by zhu shan, which means that I didn't translate it wrong, but the painter wrote it wrong.Smiley

You know what , Joey, I did find some interesting Bapo items:)

Most of them are painted in later 19th ( this subject was popular during later 19th to middle 20th)

Here is a link for the artist 杨渭泉(1885-? Yang Weiquan) he painted quite a lot of this subject..

http://bbs.ayarts.cn/simple/?t5502.html

Also there is some porcelian wares which also have this subject on. I don't know if its real or not tho..

Sorry George,

I can be totally wrong, it could be a little mistake made by painter, I certainly can't be sure. and if you buy it for the subject matter and didn't overpay for it, you should not worry about the age too much. Enjoy the bottle as its.
I like this subject a lot!

Cheers!!

Steven,
Thank you for the link. My Chinese is not good enough to understand (actually, it is almost non-existent after 30 years without practice!); I like the fan. Is it for sale? If so, how much?
Thank you for your help,
Joey

Steven,
I have everything illustrated in my catalogue, with the exception of the scroll accompanying A-8, for which I have a photograph, since it is in the possession of the Osaka Municipal Museum of Fine Arts, in Japan.
Many of my 'fans' are actually album leaves in the shape of fans. They could have been mounted as fans, presumably, but never were.
