This is the other cloisonne bottle I mentioned earlier.
It is 70mm high and has similar motif one both faces. For sharing and comments, please.

Dear all,

Sorry for an error in my earlier posting, The one showing the base is the wrong one. It belongs to another bottle whose pictures I am about to post.

Dear all,

This is one of my recent additions to my collection, 70mm high and both faces have the same design of ' shou ' motif.
The collector is a Chinese from either the Mainland or Taiwan. I believe it was a Qing  but not sure of the period.

For sharing and your comments, please.

Dear Adrian,

Where did you order the lovely plates from ? I would like to give it a try if these porcelain items are still available.

Dear all,

Wonder if any of you have seen this , or have it in your collection ?

A new contact I made who deals in tea pots ( esp. Japanese iron tea-pots ) sent me this rather interesting object.
He lives in Tokyo and told me the object is a container for tea leaves.

I follow on with the lead  -  the company seal mark at the base of the containeer  -  to enquire if they are selling it.
Regrettably, the reply was it was of limited edition and they have stopped producing it. Added, it was exclusively for the Japanese markets and not for export !

For your enjoyment and response, if any.

Richard,

If you have the picture of the cylindrical metal bottle of the other Immortal, would you like to cut and paste next to the picture I posted ? For comparison ....

Joey and all,

Richard and I believed our bottles would have been part of a set of eight ( 8 Immortals ).

We bought on separate dates, not knowing the other has one. Richard had his earlier than mine.

Any tip from anyone on how to keep the bottle from tarnishing in a highly humid enviroment like Singapore ?

Dear all,

Just to share a metal bottle of cylindricak form, engraved with poems and one of the eight immortals.
It is 65mm high and 23mm in diameter.
The carver's pen-name as appeared on bottle was 环中子,and original name was 马骀 Ma Tai ( 1886 - 1937 ).
This bottle could be one of eight bottles in a set depicting the 8 Immortals. ( Richard Baey has also one such bottle but engraved with another immortal !

Adrian,

It is an interesting IPSB, with that kind of shape usually seen in material bottles.

The artist called himself/herself ' 玉青(Yu Qing) ' and he painted it in the Summer month 夏月  of the
year 丁酉 ( 1957 or 1897 ).

Hi Thomas,

Two points re. your bottle :

1. The artist wrote that he painted it in the year of " 丙午 which could be 1906 or 1966.
2. He did not signed off but wrote " 仿长白老人笔 " meaning " after the style of some artist whose pen-name was " 长白老人 " ( the old man of Zhangbai Mountain ).

Hi Thomas,

I am Inn-Bok Ooi , a Singaporean Chinese collector .

You reminded of a trip I made in Wales with my family in 1999 when my son graduated in England. I drove from Chester down to Cardiff and Swansea. Quite a relaxing journey.

Welcome on board !

Dear Samson,

The surface as well as the color textures of your bottle was just great ! Very beautiful indeed.
Indeed if you have not indicated it as root amble, I would have thought the material was of some kind of wood, well polished to bring out the grains.

Dear all,

I Thought it would be better to be late than never. even though it is 3 weeks now since Giovanni posted his blue/white bottle, I want to say I am still excited to read his and other posts. I will post some new acquisitions of mine in a moment.

Giovanni, thanks for the lead about Hugin. I will look for it and try my hand on it. I always remember Yee Pin's seamless pictures he posted sometime ago.

Dear Ileney,

Lapis lazuli with the right matrix is always a beauty to behold. I like lapis as well but so far I have not yet had a bottle of this material. Glad you have acquired it.

Dear Ileney,

What a pair you have brought about ! Interesting works of art.

This type of work is really time consuming, something I appreciate too.

I kept two to three snuff bottles of this type to appreciate the workmanship and the process of making them.
