Title: Metal bottle with stones Post by: Rube on October 10, 2017, 09:33:17 am Hello again,
Here's the other bottle I'd like to post today. It's a silver bottle embellished with malachite and coral pieces, and measures 2 3/4" w/o stopper. My grandmother called it "Mongolian", and bought it in Colorado Springs in 1969. Any comments, especially regarding it's classification and age, are most welcome! Cheers, Rube. A beautiful example, and 19th C. in my opinion, though possibly earlier. I was also taught to call this type 'Mongolian', though now we may have to call it 'Mongolian/Manchu/Tibetan' (ie., from the non-Han Chinese periphery to the north and west of the Han Chinese heartland). Best, Joey Title: Re: Metal bottle with stones Post by: George on October 10, 2017, 12:43:00 pm Another wonderful bottle Rube !

That is a possibly one of the best examples of this kind of bottle, very well made, the stones are all perfectly embellished. I am with Joey and George on the date 19th. Well done! Steven Title: Re: Metal bottle with stones Post by: Rube on October 10, 2017, 03:48:36 pm George, Joey, and Steven,
