Thought I'd start sharing a few of the bottles I've acquired recently.

I really like the slender form of this bottle I picked up recently. Seems extremely well carved and polished with original stopper. I also love the unassuming hidden base. Since I prefer simplicity, So far this is one of my favorites.

Measures 5.8 cm to the rim & only 1.8 cm at widest on body.There's a Mark on the stopper which might help provide more information.

Your pictures are way too large to view them properly! Please downsize them.

Our guideline size on this forum is for images to be around 600 pixels wide x 800-900 high.
That way the whole picture can be seen on screen without having to scroll left and right.

Very pleasing shape, but probably fairly modern.
I cannot make out the stone. It looks like a crystalline quartz.

I can not make out the mineral either, but think Tom's crystalline quartz guess is a good one .. 

But not so sure is modern.. I think it is old, but need to search a couple books, and before I do would like to see the base. 

I completely agree with you Matthew..  Simplicity, and elegance which your bottle has.

Here is a spoon showing similar markings.. I can only assume some kind of maker mark.

Picture of base attached. Crystalline quartz would be my thought as well. I do believe all things point to this being an older bottle though.

I may have go caught up in the beautiful shape, and the collar made me think old..

I don't believe that base is correct for old style.  At this point going to have to agree with Tom's modern dating..

Regardless, a beautiful bottle !

There is a similar jade bottle on ebay, with this base.  The seller proposes a 18/19th century dating.  What do you all think?

I'm not the expert when it comes to stone bottles, but the form with the flared lip and base dimple sure appears to be the 2nd half of the 19th century to me.  The spoon and collar appear to be silver and I've seen reference to the same or similar type mark on other silver items.  Sorry I can not be of much with such a bottle.  I agree it is a very pleasing form.

Can you share a similar bottle with similar foot for Matthew ?

It is not the shape of Matthew's bottle, nor even the foot, which makes me think it is 20th century. It is the material. I have never seen this type of stone used on older bottles.

If this bottle was made of jade, or of good quality quartz / chalcedony, I'd probably date it to 1860-1940.

We use a quartzite stone for kitchen and bathroom tops called "Crystal White" in the building trade. I can't tell 100% from the photos, but this bottle does look to be quite similar if not the same material.

It's still a very elegant looking bottle! And I like the way the foot has been done.

I also think that Matthew's bottle is modern and I agree that the material is not right for an order bottle.

What do you think of the bottle from eBay that I showed?  I think it is a much order bottle than Matthew's and I think the material, shape, and that fact that it is well hollowed (as per the seller) all point to an order dating.  Do you agree?

Wish I could be more confident about this one for you Curt, but I am just not sure.  Yes, it looks like nice shaped bottle, but I can't be sure it is jade.  Sometimes I get fooled with this color as it can be serpentine..

     I've not had a notification in over a week of postings on the Forum, and today, when I got one from Charll's posting (Peach River bottle with a horse and a bird), I accessed the 'Show unread posts since last visit', and found 11!
    I opened this one but can't access the photos. Is there a problem again?

Yes Joey... Having problems.. To make a long story short, I can not edit a lot of admin options, and can not edit anything within the back end of the forum.

We lost some images and attachments... Maybe as far back as 1/1/16.

We are up and running, but there are some things that we can not do until switch to new servers. It would not surprise me that something like getting notifications has been affected as well, but I will check that for sure..
